Brother

In the year I’ve known you, you’ve amazed me many times.
the way you always struggled through, even through the biggest lies.

You showed respect with no gain in sight, that was a thing so pure.
You managed to show me what’s important and how to endure.

When life is hard on you and all seems to go wrong,
you keep on smiling in the face of pain just to make it all gone.

You’ve lived your life without a home, so you came to us up north.
But it was because of evil thoughts that you had to leave, so young…

And all the things that I once valued seem to have no meaning now,
Because you showed me how to live with nothing and to stay proud.

I’ve learned so much when you were here, I never realized.
I couldn’t imagine feeling like this, this emptiness inside.

(Chorus)
My brother, my friend, my mind is with you.
I miss your voice, it’s so silent without you,
no one can fill this void, not in a thousand years.
I will live my life your way, just to feel that you are here.

(Instrumental break)

You’ve turned your back, towards us all,
’cause you felt cast outside of society’s walls.
So this is society and what it does to you.
I feel ashamed to live in a land were skincolor values the good…

(Chorus)
